Adding an asset

Adding an ASA or NFT to your algo wallet is easy & the process is the same. Here's what you'll need.

  • The ASA or NFT asset number. KittenCoin, for example, is asset #361671874.

  • It's a good idea to check AlgoExplorer to make sure you're adding the correct asset. If the asset is verified, it will have a green check mark.

  • Next, head to your wallet. Adding an asset charges a transaction fee, so you'll need to have at least some ALGO in your wallet to complete this stem. (Need to buy Algo? Check out our How to Buy Guide)

  • On the MyAlgo Wallet, you'll go to the balance drop-down, and the first option has a plus sign with the world "Add Asset"

  • A popup will appear with the instructions to enter the Asset name or asset id. If you needed to add KittenCoin, here's where you would enter 361671874, and select "Continue.

  • A transaction will occur and you will now be able to receive the asset to your address!

  • If you're using the mobile app, the process is very similar, however the "Add new asset" option is available on the bottom of your list of assets. Otherwise, you'll follow the same process .
